Well, this is my first entry from me, Diane James MEP!
The intention is for anyone who is interested, to read a small regular snap shot of what I am up to on a fairly regular basis.
The weekend 6th June 2015 brought the South East Region UKIP Conference to a very sunny and windy Eastbourne. 600 members came to support the conference and hear different members including Nigel speak.
I attended the Gala dinner on the Friday evening and also hosted a lunch table on the Saturday enabling me to catch up with fellow UKIP member friends and colleagues.
I delivered my speech at the start of the Saturday afternoon session. I spoke on the impact of EU membership in the context of my capacity as UKIP Justice & Home Affairs spokesperson and it was very well received. Areas that I touched on included Europol, Eurojust and the Eurogendarmerie.
Today see me based in Strasbourg for 4 days of debates and parliamentary voting. The most important topic this session will be TTIP, which has generated huge interest amongst concerned UK voters and resulted in thousands of emails to my European email account.
I shall be speaking twice on Tuesday on ‘Smart Borders Package’ and Thursday on ‘Breaches on Human Rights’.
A busy week ahead for an MEP!
